The firm's founder, San San Lee, incorporates the skill sets developed through her rich, multicultural background into her practice. Born in Taiwan and raised in Japan and the United States, her innate understanding of these diverse cultures and her ability to work effectively with others is a valuable asset to her clients. Fluent in English, Mandarin and Japanese, Ms. Lee represents corporations and high-net-worth individuals in real estate, business and hospitality transactions, and acts as "outside general counsel" for the U.S. operations of Asian companies.
She is an enthusiastic public speaker on issues related to diversity and cultural expectations in the context of attorney-client relationships and negotiations. She has also spoken on the challenges encountered by hotel management companies providing management services abroad. A graduate of Claremont McKenna College and UCLA School of Law, Ms. Lee has practiced U.S. law in California, Texas, Japan, Singapore and Hong Kong. She has served as Asia Counsel for Inter-Continental Hotels & Resorts and as General Counsel for Rosewood Hotels & Resorts, among others.
